Celebrating Mother's Day!

Love for Mother!

I chose this cute little cat because my mom loves cats.

Patricia from The Painted Prose shares:
This little tea strainer reminds me of my mother because she used to brew loose tea. This would have been a perfect gift for her to set the infuser on once she finished brewing her cup of tea. It works well for teabags too. As a mother of seven young adult daughters myself, I tried to make the design something they might find more appealing and a bit more youthful than the standard flowers found on most porcelain.

Barb from Barb's Heartstrokes shares:
My mom loves beautiful flowers but like me we are the "black thumbs" of our family. If we touch the beautiful blooms they tend to die. So to remedy this, it is better for us to have some we can look at not live plants!

Mother's Day is Just Around the Corner!

Anne from Annie's Handmade Decor shared this:
My mom cooked for us seven days a week so a hot pad reminds me of this. She was a great cook, too!

Lucy from The Farmer's Attic tells us about her Mother:
Flowers and Bows Doily
My Mom worked in a lace factory for 30 years. As kids, we would go and visit her and the other workers every once in a while. There were these huge heavy (and I mean heavy) rolls of allover lace that needed to be reduced down to a manageable size and shipped around the world to be sold. The machines that were needed to take these rolls of lace and card them were massive and quite impressive.
Whenever I see bolts of allover lace, I never fail to go back in time to seeing how Mom did her job. I was amazed by her strength and most importantly her work ethic!

Marsha of Ms. Crafty Touch shares:
My life is full of lots of Mothers, Women who love horses. So I thought this hand painted box of a Paint Horse would be a one of a kind gift item for Mother's Day.

Rita from Sticks 'n Stones:
Mother's Day is a special day of honor for all mothers, including expecting moms carrying precious life of expected little ones. This baby blanket would make a special Mother's Day gift for a mother-to-be.
This brings back fond memories of when my children were born, and the special feelings when I got to wrap my new baby in a handmade blanket to come home. I used the same blanket for both of my children, and have saved this blanket as a special keepsake to pass on to future generations.

Time For Mother!

Time to Think of Mother!
Sue of Lodge Decor and More shared this:

From Theresa of Piece of My Heart Mosaics:
As long as I can remember my Moms favorite color was pink.
When I was young she even had pink kitchen appliances. She loved pink roses and always had a beautiful rose garden. So this pretty 4 drawer little trinket / jewelry box with the porcelain pink roses reminds me so much of my mom and I think it would make a lovely Mother's Day Gift.

Lucy from The Farmer's Attic shares this fun pillow:
My Mom is truly my best friend. She is a woman who has shown unconditional love, compassion and mercy towards others. She is kind, gentle and humble. She is forgiving and tenderhearted. She has worked hard all of her life without complaint. If only I could be half the woman that she is!

Being a Mother I have found this is so true.  The memories made with my children are the most beautiful things and will live in my heart forever!

More For Mother

More Wonderful Girts for Mother's!

Joan from Marley Art  shares this delightful scene
My Mother was from Ireland and we often traveled there spending extended time in the house of her birth. When I do these paintings of Irish cottages or little villages in Ireland it takes me back to when I was with her. I was so lucky to be able to spend this time with her and experience what her childhood was like. I miss those visits and revisit them in my paintings.

Mona from MR Originals  asked this great question!
Did you ever wonder what happened to all of those buttons in your Mothers button basket? They grew into button flowers on my Mom pillow.

Anne from Annie's Homemade Decor  shares this:
My mom and I used to watch the 4:30 Movie together after school. We each had a side of the sofa and a little pillow. These embroidered pillows I make remind me of her.

This beautiful frame is by Deb of  Paxton Valley Folk Art.
The quote on this little canvas I created says it all when it comes to my Mom, her love, understanding and support for me and my brother as we were growing up, and to this day, is boundless. And in return, our love for her is bottomless. She loves antiques and warm soft colours, so this little mixed media plaque was created to include some of those elements. I added the scattering of little hearts to reflect not only my love for her but also to represent how her heart keeps on giving. Love you Mom!

A fun little village by Carol of  Holiday Spirits  shares:
My mother was such a warm welcoming woman. She made our home a cozy & comforting place to be. She was always learning something new...a new craft, painting technique or recipe. She always makes me think of home and how lucky I am to have such wonderful memories...

Mary of  MoeggenborgSugarBush  offers:
Nothing brings back the past so much as scent. This one reminds me of my mother whom I lost when I was twelve. I'm not sure why this brings her to mind, but it always does. Rose is the predominant scent in this soap, but the geranium is a subtle background to this wonderful vintage fragrance.

We Love Mothers!

Wonderful gifts for any Mother!

Joann from Painted Panache shared her creation:
This butterfly trivet reminds me of my Mom. She died a year ago and ever since I have been seeing butterflies. Anytime I am out in the yard one will find me and flutter all around me. I cannot see a butterfly now without thinking about her.

Lisa from Primitive State of Mind shared this fun sign:
I grew up in a little town that actually had a general store. We never had a lot of money growing up as a farm girl but every week my mother would take me to the general store for a candy treat. Every time I look at this sign it reminds me of sitting on the front steps of the general store eating a piece of candy with my mom. Sharing a special moment with her. I made one for myself and every time I pass it, I smile. Mothers Day is not only a celebration of your mother but also all the wonderful memories of her that will follow you the rest of your life. Enjoy:)

Sharon from Moore Than Bags shares this basket:
This listing is for a spa basket that is sure to please any mother. I especially like it because it combines my twin passions of crochet and soap making. If your mother is like mine she will enjoy a handmade gift and the thought that went into making her day special.

This wonderful frame was created by Marsha of Ms. Crafty Touch:
I love this frame because it has such lovely spring colors. I chose to use the many words that also mean "Mother" because Mother's have many hats. The pansies are one of my favorite flowers and just say spring to me.

A beautiful listing from Natalie of Natalie's Notions:
I have all of my mother's vintage scarves and they are listed in my Notions shop. This is one of my favorites.

Lois of Crafts for all Occasions shared:
My mother loves yellow. Whenever I make a spring decoration, I always make a yellow one just for her.

Johanna of the Wood Grain Gallery has created this for all mothers.
For all Mom's who spend their days away from their children...a perfect way to make you smile everyday!

Robyn from Motherlode Toad shared this:
Primitive PDF Pattern, Primitive Flowers, Primitive Flower Bouquet, Cornflowers, Carnations, Coneflowers
My mother occasionally used the word bodacious. This PDF original pattern is named "Bodacious Bouquet" in her honor. It is soft in color, warms my heart and stands out (Just like my Mom!)

Denise from Pioneer Loft shared this:
MUSIC SYMBOLS Pillow 14" Osnaburg Farmhouse Cottage Chic Shabby Country Musician
My mother played piano, thus, so did I. The love of music brings me to create certain items. This is just one.

Jan from Raggedyjan shares:
Stove Burner Covers Saltbox Hand painted Primitive Folk Art Home Kitchen Decor OFG
The scenes on these stove burner covers depicts my heritage
Life centered around the farm and church.
My Grandma's big two story farmhouse always smelled of bread baking in the old wood stove.
I never see a quilt that does not remind me of my Grandmas exquisite needlework.
Her stitches were so tiny it is hard to tell from machine quilted.
I love painting the scenes of the simpler life in days gone by.
You are always welcome to visit my shop and take a short journey ...somewhere back in time.

Lynn from Crooked Crow's Mercantile lovely creation:
My mother loved flowers, couldn't grow them to save her life but loved them none the less. She always asked me to make her baskets for her house so she could have flowers for every season. She's been gone 3 years now and every time I see flowers I think of her.

Pamela shared this from her shop It's Just Frankly Kute:
What Makes the Garden Grow a 29x32 wall hang applique quilt
This quilt reminds of my mom who loves to work in the yarn and grow all kinds of flowers and also of my husband's mother, who love yard work both woman would grow the most amazing things, one thing for my mom she loved to threaten the rose bushes with the yard stick and I remember seeing her outside telling the rose bushes they had better grow or else! and to this day she still does that. My husband's mother grew, delightful big raspberries and she fought a tough battle with Alzheimer disease so the reminds me of them both in the yard working away.
