Feature Friday - Lollipop Express

The Old Farmhouse Gathering Team is so pleased to feature Patricia of Lollipop Express. Patricia named her shop Lollipop Express when she had switched to sewing toddler clothes and selling them when her granddaughter was a baby. Her granddaughter had a very large choo choo train and she would imagine it full of Lollipops. When she decided to go back to her wood crafts, she decided to keep the name because it makes her smile.

Patricia is new to Etsy, having opened her shop this January after having had a shop established on Ebay. Even though Patricia sews she really enjoys painting all types of wood items. She likes to do seasonal items and has started working on Americana items for the 4th of July. She's is usually six months ahead of each season and holiday, so you will see her working on Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas items very soon.,
Patricia has been doing wood crafts for over 25 years and has been painting oils for 30 years. She has seen it all. In fact, she's still seeing many things selling on Etsy that she had done years ago. Back in the 90's, Patricia owned a craft store with her friend but had gotten very sick with Lupus and couldn't manage getting out every day.

When asked what advice she would give to someone who is just starting out, Patricia says, "Just do what you love. Don't overspend on your supplies." She's really trying to work on her own advice. She used to go out and buy "every" new book even though she still has lots of "old" painting books. Actually her first sale on Ebay was from a 1987 book.

Patricia and her husband have been married for almost 42 years. They've actually been together since they were 16. The have two children and six grandchildren. She is a very happy person who likes to spend time with her family. Her family is the most important thing to her besides God.

You can also find Patricia on Ebay as lollipopexpress.
Please take some time to visit with Patricia by clicking any of the photos above. She has a great shop and would love to have you spend time with her.

Feature Friday - Prims Gone Wild

Today's featured shop is Karen of Prims Gone Wild. Karen has been making handmade dolls and crafts for a long time. She uses her own designs and patterns making folk art primitive crafts.

Most of the time Karen makes dolls, bunnies and cats.A lot of her crafts can be described as Folk Art, Prim Grunged and Extreme Grunged Crafts. Grunged is a process of painting, sanding and staining using mainly walnut crystals, coffee, vanilla and cinnamon. They smell "yummy". Part of the grunged process also includes baking her crafts.

Karen has always been a country prim girl and feels that it definitely shows in her creations. She comes from a very large creative family. She is one of 14, 8 girls and 6 boys! She used to draw all over her bedroom walls which she used as if it was a big canvas. She never got in trouble for drawing on her walls, in fact, she had even gotten compliments on it!

Karen also collects vintage items to recycle and make prim make-do's. She also makes prim hang tags. Her creations are very unique and have a personality all their own.

Please take some time to visit with Karen. Simply click on any of the photos above. You will not be disappointed!
