Laura has been sewing most of her life and made her first prim doll about 25 years ago, but then moved on to different things. In the last year or so she's returned to making primitive and folk art dolls. She considers her dolls unique creations and works of art - and take great care in their construction. Each one is carefully and lovingly made one at a time by her alone. Quality is of the utmost importance to Laura, but do remember these are primitive and folk art dolls - some dangling threads, wrinkles, tears, or what may appear to be imperfections are intentional and add to the character of the doll.  Just click on the logo above and check out all her wonderful wares. New Member at the Old Farmhouse Gathering

The Old Farmhouse Gathering team would like to welcome our newest members at the old farmhouse, Nicki and her mother, Lisa and their Etsy Shoppe Woods Edge Creations.   Nicki tells us a little about herself.

"Hi! My name is Nicki and I look forward to getting to know you all.  I am just starting out in the handmade world with my mother Lisa, we started our own business in '09, Woods Edge Creations where we sell our handmade soaps, herbal salves, and soon to come hand sewn and hand crocheted items! I love country living and am trying to make my way back out in the country! I have always said that I was born way too late! I love horses, gardening, and most of all handmade creations! My sister and I grew up in the city until I was 13, at which time my family and I moved to the country and built a 1 bedroom A-frame cabin in the woods without running water or electricity and I loved it! We raised chickens, goats, rabbits and I was finally able to get my horse that I always dreamed of! I have electricity now, but am looking forward to moving back to the country with my husband and son Alex who is 17 months old!" Nicki has a blog, Sassy Soap Bubbles, where you can visit and find out more about this mother daughter venture.  Welcome Nicki and Lisa!
