Feature Friday with Yorkie's Primitives

1. What is the name of your Etsy shop and why did you choose that name?
My Etsy name is Yorkie's Primitives and I named it in honor of my Grandmother.  She helped me make my first apron for 4-H and I fell in love with it.  I used to help her tack quilts in the summer.  Her nickname was Yorkie(which she hated)LOL.  But I think it is appropriate to pay tribute to her.

2. How long have you been on Etsy?
4 years in Feb.
3. What type of items do you offer?
Primitive dolls, wood items, soap dispensers and anything else that intrigues me.
4. How long have you been crafting?
I started crafting right after I got married, about 45 years.
5. Who or What inspires you?
Magazines, pictures, friends, browsing through patterns and my kids.
6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
It's hard to choose because I have to love something to make it so I really love everything I make.  But my favorite right now is the Lazy Dayz Crow.  I fell in love with this crow the minute I saw the pattern.  It just makes me think of sitting around and being lazy.LOL

7. Other places where you can be found?

8. How do you describe your artistic style?
Mostly prim but I have a few items that aren't prim and I'm not sure how to categorize them. LOL

9. Do you have set days or times to work on your craft?
No.  My life is so hectic that I craft when I can.  I usually do most of my crafting at night after everyone goes to bed or early in the morning when no one is up yet.
10. What words of advice would you give others or to someone just starting out?
My best words of advice is to follow your heart and be patient, (which I am not!!)
11. Tell a bit of personal info about yourself
I am 61 years young.  I love playing!!  Whether it be crafting, playing video games or plowing a garden.  I have a wonderful husband that I have married to for 44 years, 2 wonderful girls,  6 great grand kids and 2 Adorable nieces and 1 nephew.   My life  revolves around my family.  I am known as Gram to all the kids that know my grand kids    I teach Children's Church at my church and I love showing them how to craft.  I also teach the adult Women's Sunday School Class and we have lots of fun as we learn.  I believe in kids and love them all.  I take pride in any work that I do including my crafting.  I believe you should always follow your dreams and have as much fun as you can during your life.
