Feature Friday with Janice of the Primitive Outhouse

1. What is the name of your Etsy shop and why did you choose that name?
Well, this is sort of a long story so I will sum it up. Quite a few years ago my Mother moved into a house and there was a TON of salvaged wood pieces in her yard which I built into a primitive outhouse. A few months later I started a website and couldn't think of a name my fiancé' suggested I use the outhouse I built because that is what inspired me to start a website! So, The Primitive Outhouse was born! I have since closed the actual web site but still use the name, as I felt it was still a good name.
2. How long have you been on Etsy?
I have been on Etsy since March of 2008, but just recently have started to use Etsy as my main selling venue!
3. What type of items do you offer?
I offer a variety of hand made and re-purposed items. I cannot seem to decide on one medium I like painting, woodworking, sewing and re-purposing items. I am an eclectic crafter I make what I like and feel others will like as well!
4. How long have you been crafting?
It feels like forever, but I would say about 15 years or so.
5. Who or What inspires you?
My love of anything handmade! My biggest fans are my family and friends who think anything I make is amazing! I also enjoy the feeling I get when I am working on projects, it is like I drift off into my own little world and it is quite peaceful there!!
6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
I am not sure if I could choose any one item, I would say it has to be the cranberry boxes I paint. I love painting them and I like anything that can be decorative, but can serve as another purpose also!
7. Other places where you can be found.
I am on Etsy, eBay, My Blog and I am working on a selling blog as well!
