Feature Friday

We are excited to feature Happy Valley Primitives this week. Ilene has had her hands busy ‘creating’ something since early childhood! Her paternal grandmother originally peaked her interest in beautiful hand embroidery. Her mom taught her to sew, knit, crochet, paint, and on and on…they tried everything! While her first attempts at clothing have been rather comical (her hubby spared her feelings so graciously by wearing that knitted sweater with one looong arm),she eventually grew to appreciate quilting. Over time, all those perfect points and matching seams began to lose her interest, and her tastes began to gravitate to projects that could be done quickly. Then came the world of penny rugs…so very fast and beautiful to create.

As her curiosity grew to find new patterns that interested her, she started to discover the world of primitive décor. She began studying it, and found that this particular decorating style was not just a fad, but had withstood the test of time. And it was pretty cool too! How fun to create items that are SUPPOSE to look old, grungy and not so perfect! And now she's amassed a humungous collection of patterns that range from cute primitive country to full-on grungy extra prim.

You can find Ilene on: Etsy or on Facebook. Stop by often. Ilene adds to her shop regularly!!!

I've always admired those who can knit and crochet so pretty. That's because I can't do it myself:)
Ilene picked on making those primitives real well too:)
